What is Hope on Wheels?

Hope on Wheels is CityTeam San Jose’s food truck that mobilizes CityTeam’s traditional meal service. Nutritious hot meals are brought directly to homeless encampments and are served to unhoused guests free of charge.

Tables and chairs are set up at each location to provide a welcoming and engaging dining experience. Our goal is to build relationships and trust with our guests. Sharing meaningful conversation and providing a listening ear are essential to providing dignity and respect to our unhoused guests.

If a guest is interested, staff members are available at every meal to discuss pathways towards life-restoring resources, including housing solutions available through CityTeam’s Residential Programs.  Volunteers are welcome to serve with Hope on Wheels by preparing meals, serving meals, and engaging with our guests.
